Music for Chameleons
We believe in the power of art to create quality human connections, to reflect on ourselves as individuals and collectively, to strengthen our self-confidence and imagination, to expand and break through boundaries, to make visible the invisible, to enjoy life. It is kind of a medicinal element for our soul. This belief brought Kabinet Mirage to be part, since 2017, of the international network “Music for Chameleons, performative arts for social inclusion” and the platform “Social arts hub / LovEARTH through ART”, funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Social Fund.
With the support and cooperation of the institution FEZ–Landesmusikakademie Berlin, Kabinet Mirage has been present in the residencies carried out in Italy and Portugal, with the task of artistic and organizational co-direction during the whole process, from the research until the creation of the shows. We have worked, for example, on the inclusion of refugees (2018, Italy) and people with mental disabilities (2019, Portugal) with amateur and professional performers. The number of participants in each edition has been between 40-60, who at the end of the process presented their collective creations at art and culture festivals nearby.
This project includes about 8 organizations from 5 EU countries (Italy, Germany, Portugal, Romania, Poland), which meet annually for exchange and research of methods and techniques for the promotion of social inclusion through performing arts. With this aim, the performances have integrated so far disciplines such as music, theatre, dance, clowning, pantomime, and juggling.
